Boston Sports Medicine: Providing Aquatic Therapy for Dedham Patients

As one of the oldest forms of medical treatment, aquatic therapy for Dedham patients has been used as a cure for disease and injury since the Roman times. Back then, aquatic therapy for Dedham residents involved bathing in hot mineral springs.

At Boston Sports Medicine, we offer a modernized version of this same treatment. Our version of aquatic therapy for Dedham patients is performed in one of our two private, heated pools. You may be treated at various depths of water. During aquatic therapy, Dedham patients may be asked to perform weight-bearing or non-weight-bearing exercises using special equipment like flotation and resistive devices.

Our physical therapists use aquatic therapy for Dedham patients to treat a wide range of conditions. When you turn to us for aquatic therapy for Dedham residents, we will tailor the treatment to your particular injury.

Who Needs Aquatic Therapy for Dedham Patients?

Although we primarily treat athletes in need of physical rehabilitation, other patients can also benefit from aquatic therapy. Dedham patients with chronic pain, arthritis, or neck and back injuries can experience pain relief through this therapy.

Aquatic therapy for Dedham residents is also beneficial for pregnant women. One of the most common ailments that women experience during pregnancy is back pain. Through aquatic therapy, Dedham pregnant women can experience reduced back pain along with improved sleeping patterns and lessened ankle swelling.

What Are the Benefits of Aquatic Therapy for Dedham Patients?

Here are some of the reasons why you should consider undergoing aquatic therapy for Dedham patients:

  • Aquatic Therapy for Dedham Patients Can Increase Joint Flexibility

During aquatic therapy, Dedham patients will be immersed in a warm salt water pool. Being in the water will reduce the effects of gravity and allow an increased joint range of motion.

While undergoing aquatic therapy, Dedham patients who are injured can move more freely. Their affected body part will float, making it less painful to move. Additionally, during aquatic therapy for Dedham residents, your body will be submerged in warm water, which helps relax muscles that are sore or tight.

  • Aquatic Therapy for Dedham Patients Can Decrease Pain

When you’re experiencing chronic pain, aquatic therapy for Dedham residents can be the treatment you need. Being immersed in warm water can increase the blood supply to sore muscles and promote relaxation. So, while you’re undergoing aquatic therapy for Dedham patients, you can experience a significant increase in comfort and a decrease in tension.

  • Aquatic Therapy for Dedham Patients Can Improve Balance

Do you need help improving your balance? Try undergoing aquatic therapy for Dedham patients. Practicing your balance while on water will allow you to challenge yourself without fear of injury. Even if you lose your balance, the buoyancy of the water will keep you from hurting yourself.
